With two major international Falconry events in the coming months I have decided to mark 2009 by launching a new website devoted solely to books on falconry and raptor care and natural history. Simultaneously I have published a new hard-copy catalogue of new and in-print books on these subjects. Coch-y-bonddu Books are leading dealers in, and publishers of, falconry books. In addition we hold the world stocks of a number of important raptor books- these are generally not available elsewhere. Examples are unique books like GOSHAWK: GOD MADE YOU ETERNAL. This later book is full of previously published informationon falconry and natural history in a country much in the news.   Paul Morgan. 24th April 2009.

Magnificent new falconry book: Sky Hunters (24/04/2009 @ 16:25:34)

Sky Hunters: The Passion of Falconry

By Hossein Amirsadeghi

An exhaustive history of this magnificent sport, with hundreds of excellent illustrations, most of which will be unfamiliar to the widely-read falconer. The wide-ranging text covers falconry from its beginnings and takes in practically every country where it has ever been practiced. Arabian, Persian and Mongolian falconry are of course covered, as well as Germany, the Czech lands, Austria, France, much on the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal, modern North America and elsewhere. The main text is by Hossein Amirsadeghi, with additional essays by Sir Mark Allen, Roger Upton, Patrick Morel, Sir Terence Clark and S. Kent Carnie. A stunning book that covers the history and pursuit of "the sport of Kings", from it's beginnings in Central Asia to its present revival. To be enjoyed by both falconry enthusiasts and those interested in the subjects surrounding the sport such as history, nature, hunting, art, and human drama to name a few.
